The Opioid Diary aims to shed light on the current events revolving around the American opioid epidemic.
To put it simply… 1 in 6 people today KNOW someone who has DIED from an opioid overdose. Think about that for a second… 1 in 6 people today KNOW someone who has died from an opioid overdose.
For 1 in every 6 Americans the opioid epidemic is no longer a stat to them, it is reality, loss, grief and pain. 1 in 6 Americans have ZERO degrees of separation between them and the DEATH of family, friends, classmates, colleagues, or neighbors.
Just to be clear, We’re not saying 1 in 6 Americans knows someone struggling with addiction. 1 in 6 Americans has attended the funeral, paid their respects, or offered condolences to the loved ones of someone they KNOW.
America’s Opioid Epidemic is the collision of aggressive pharmaceutical companies, greedy insurance companies, lenient legislation, and a societal shift in expectations of pain management; The Perfect Storm.
